vintage izod bomber jacket

I didn’t really know how hunting would go once I moved down south. I figured (or hoped) I would still be able to find major brands and classic styles. I wasn’t wrong. I do find a lot of J CREW and Banana Republic which depending on the style, I’m all about. However, I was worried about finding the weirder, or as we would say, more special items in Huntsville, AL. I started to feel better the moment I hunted this jacket. Let me count the ways I love it. It’s IZOD. It’s vintage. It’s velour. It’s polka dot. It’s quilted. It’s a varsity jacket. It has a soft shiny and lining. It’s insanely soft and cozy. I could probably keep going, but I’ll stop there.

Where did I find this gem? I rescued it from The Saving Way for $7. After a quick trip to the dry cleaners, it’s good as new. While it would look great with many looks (it’s one of those outfit making jackets), I went with distressed cropped jeans and a structured Banana Republic shirt – both thrifted of course. I like how the shirt gives a nod to the preppy brand of the jacket, but the sneakers and the jeans keep it cool. You really can hunt great finds anywhere, and this jacket proves that. I’m going to have a really hard time letting this one go…if I let it go.

I encourage you to hunt for similar items at your local thrift store, but if online shopping is more your style…
