The south loves Jesus. The south loves to dress up. The south loves sugar. Ipso facto, Easter is a big ‘to do’ down here. I decided this would be a perfect opportunity to host my huband’s family at the new place. We had an an impressive southern spread with honey baked ham, potato salad, corn casserole, Brussel sprouts, yeast rolls, and of course, an Easter themed cake.
I even managed to pull together some decent Easter outfits which were mostly thrifted. Let me tell you, I have been waiting to wear this Banana Republic dress (yes, it’s a dress not a skirt), for ages. It’s so bright and fun. I decided to dress it down a bit by wearing a simple striped shirt over it and tied in the back – though it would’ve looked cute under it too!
My FAVORITE item is this pair of new crushed velvet flats. I scooped them for $5 at Bargain Hunt. It’s not a second hand store, but the merch has definitely been in at least one store before it found its way there. Most of it seems like unsold Target items. I love Target just as much as the next mom, but their prices have gotten kind of steep for what it is. So, Bargain Hunt has become a great alternative and a regular stop for me.
By the time we snapped some family pictures my youngest had tried to eat the sidewalk, and my oldest had peed his pants. Oh and I stepped on these sunnies during the Easter Egg hunt. That’s life. Here we are anyway – no pants and all! Happy Easter! Thrifted details: Banana Republic pink and purple color wide stripe dress ($5), The Limited navy and white striped shirt ($2), crushed velvet Target slides ($5), layered drop necklace from Bloomingdales ($15), and vintage gold bracelet ($5). Maxwell and Milo’s details: Toddler tie ($1), checked Old Navy onesie ($1) and infant khakis ($1).
