bye bye black dress

This past award season there was A LOT of black sheer gowns on the red carpet. Black sheer is nothing new – it’s flattering, sexy, and classic. I came across this magazine spread in a waiting room recently. I am a sucker for black lace, so I obviously drooled over each and every gown.

The great news for us common folk is that this isn’t a new fabric or trend, so it can be easily hunted at the thrift store. My favorite black sheer item in our inventory just sold on Tradesy. Before I let it go, I want to give it a proper send off i.e. shout out on the blog.

It is a stunning full length, tiered gown by BCBG MAX AZRIA. There are so many reasons I love this dress. It’s timeless, classic, ageless, season-less, seductive, and just down right beautiful. I came across it about eight months ago and didn’t think twice about purchasing it. While on trend for this awards season, it also really reminds me of the gown Jennifer Lawrence donned for the 2016 Oscars.

All the celebrity gowns shown here cost in the thousands. Originally this BCBG dress cost in the hundreds ($495 to be exact). Our lucky buyer is getting the same look for the bargain price of $68. Once again, you don’t have to spend a million $$$ to look like a million $$$.
