grey saturday

It’s hard to motivate this time of year is an understatement. New year’s excitement is waning, the weather is straight up depressing, and it feels like we’re all just waiting for warmer temps and the still distant promise of spring…at least in the windy city.

As hard as it is, don’t let it get you down. Conjure up the excitement you felt when the weather first turned chilly, and you pulled out all your sweaters. Put on something cozy and get outside. Even if it’s just for a bit, I promise you’ll feel better.

Today Maxwell and I are embracing this chilly day in some grey thrifted layers. Going monochromic is one of the easiest ways to look put together with little effort. The shades don’t need to match, in fact, it’s better if they don’t. The one rule for Saturday? It must be comfy, and these items are just that. They are perfectly worn and ready for whatever fun we find.

Want details? I’m head to toe thrift (yes, everything!) in H&M heather grey maternity jeans ($5), H&M birdie sweatshirt ($4), no brand black high tops ($8), Old Navy charcoal grey coat ($15), and Coach wool hat ($3).

My mini me is half thrift in a Gap grey mustache sweater ($4) and Kenneth Cole puffer vest ($3).  Not thrifted, but still worth mentioning are his lil high top Vans and Target cargo sweatshirt lined pants.

Stay warm and have a great weekend!
