It’s been a busy Spring thus far, but we didn’t forget about you or our business….not completely anyway. Today we want to share pictures and stories about a very special wedding in South Carolina. Our dear friends, Ash and Tut (like boot), tied the knot, and we wouldn’t have missed it for the world. It was a day filling with SO MANY FEELS. Not one, but two brides walking down the aisle, our friend, Erin, officiating the wedding, a breathtaking setting, and personal vows that had us all boo-hooing like little babies. It really doesn’t get any better.
Of course we took the opportunity to rock some of our favorite thrifted Spring gems. It all began with a relaxed rehearsal dinner on Friday night complete with southern bbq and lawn games. I took a nap, overslept a bit, and missed the group pic (side effect of motherhood and a 6am flight). However, Helen was representing strong in a head to toe second hand outfit: Asos black and white genie pants, Spendid black slouchy top, and a vintage statement necklace. Putting two loose items together creates an effortless look. However, accessories must be on point. The teal lucite shoes (which were first owned by Carol, then me, and now Helen) and the heavy necklace elevate the outfit and give your eye somewhere to focus. Without these pieces, it might look like Helen also overslept and then just wore her pjs to the party.
Look at how beautiful and happy my friends are! Left to right: Becki, Helen, Tut, Ash, and Carol.
I arrived fashionably late, ok just late, in a bright orange cold shoulder maxi, H&M gold gladiators, and Old Navy jean jacket – second head to toe thrift outfit of the night!
My tiny human, Maxwell, was in tow and rocked a Carter green striped sailing hoodie, blue pocket tee (gifted from my MIL, so it counts), skinny chinos (that I am completely obsessed with), and tiny grey slip-ons. All of which I dug out of a thrift store bin and infused with new life making it the third head to toe second hand outfit. I’m pretty sure that’s called a hat trick.
For the main event, I wore one of my favorite thrifted dresses. It’s a Nicole Miller silk strapless number that makes me feel so pretty. It has a casual maxi dress feel, but it’s made with really beautiful dressy fabric. With such a busy dress, there is no need to distract with elaborate hair or accessories. I chose a messy french boho braid and simple purple studs. It also just so happened to perfectly coordinate with my b-fries!
It was a magical weekend, and we can’t thank Mrs. & Mrs. B enough for letting us be a part of your special day.
