My little man and I are in our Sunday best on this Good Friday…not that we ever need a reason to dress up. However, we tend to be a bit bi-polar in our house: runway or pjs. You better believe that when we’re dressed up I’m running around looking for decent light to snap some pics.
I love this look, but it is A LOT of pattern for me. I literally had tiny pangs of anxiety while layering these two pieces on my body. When mixing patterns, it’s all about scale. For me there’s one basic and simple rule: one big, one tiny. You want your patterns to be friends (have a similar characteristic), but not twinkies (too much alike). If stripes on stripes is too much for you, try a floral and a stripe instead.
I’m also breaking another ‘rule’ today – my blazer is navy and white and my dress is actually teeny black lines over-layed with color stripes. I tend to think navy and black look great together, so I don’t really consider this a rule at all especially when there’s this much going on in an outfit. I put my little man in solids, because I have to draw the line somewhere. Oh and yes, I’m PLATINUM now!
