Finally! After being considered mostly for accents, jewels and a bright spot in a pattern, emerald green is having its star moment.
Excitedly, for those of us who enjoy the range that emerald greens have to offer, designers have begun using it for everything from funky skirts to dramatic dresses to fabulous outwear. Even jewelers have been inspired by the current embrace of the new It color. For proof and inspiration, check out one of the new necklaces from Eddie Borgo’s Holiday 2014 collection.
Remember, emerald green goes with almost everything and best of all, looks awesome on almost anyone.
This season, in the spirit of taking risks, try it with lime green like our luscious Betsy here. Or pale peachy orange like Carol in our poodle skirt. Or couple it with a dusty rose, or a pale blue, or keep it clean and go completely monochromatic.
Any way you go, it’s a great time to add a little more color and whimsy to your closet.
And don’t tell anyone, but I actually want my boyf to buy me an emerald engagement ring. Like a really fabulous vintage one with yellow gold, diamond baguettes, possibly a bezel setting. Our little secret…
Xo,
Helen
